Additionally, this unit will also remove up to 1.7 pints of moisture from the air each hour. With a maximum airflow of 224 cubic feet per minute, the Frigidaire FFRE0833S1 is also quite effective at air circulation.
Efficiency / Certifications
Energy Star Certified, this unit comes with a superb Energy Efficiency Ratio (EER) of 12, which is well over the industry average of 9.7. It’s important that you select an efficient unit, as it will save you a substantial amount of money on upkeep bills. An added feature included with this device, the 3 fan speeds are also a fantastic way of keeping your bills down. Instead of your unit just running, with speed settings you can opt to run your unit on a lower setting when its full power is not necessarily needed.
Other certifications that this unit benefits from are being UL-Listed, and AHAM certified. The UL-Listing basically informs the buyer that this product has been tested by Underwriters Laboratories and has proven to be suitable for public use. The AHAM certification states that the performance related figures provided for this unit are accurate, and that the unit does perform to the standard promised.
Fortunately, the Frigidaire FFRE0833S1 does come with a full-function wireless remote control, allowing the user to tweak the settings of their unit from anywhere in the room.
Further, with the 24-hour programmable timer, the user is empowered to input what times of the day they would like their unit to function.
An Energy Saver mode is also built-in to this unit. This allows the unit to save energy while still providing you with a comfortable atmosphere. This is typically by shutting off every 3 minutes in order to discern whether or not further cooling is necessary. Finally, this product also has a built-in fan auto mode.
With 8-way directional airflow, the effects of this unit can be evenly distributed out over any living space. An anti-bacterial washable mesh filter is accessible via a tilt-out system. In addition to this a clean air ionizer is also included in this device.
Weighing about 52lbs, this unit is not particularly heavy when compared to some of the others we have reviewed, however, as these units can sometimes be tricky to handle, we recommend you do not attempt lifting this unit on your own.

This unit is the perfect middle-range air conditioner. While not too pricey, the Frigidaire FFRE0833S1 delivers a fantastic performance. Granted, the unit is missing some of the features that we would usually look for in a window-mounted AC, however we can forgive such omissions due to the relatively low price. It must be said that it stands as a credit to Frigidaire to release units such as this one, that sacrifice some of the gadgetry, in order to produce a unit that is affordable, and functional.
